Hav Viseth is the Deputy Director General of Fisheries Administration, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Kingdom of Cambodia. He received a Ph.D in Fisheries Ecology in 2011 from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. He obtained his M.Sc in Aquaculture Science from Ghent University, Belgium in 1999 and his B.Sc in Fishery Science from the Royal University of Agriculture, Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 1994.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities in the Fisheries Administration, he has been managing or co-managing the implementation of several donor-funded fisheries and aquaculture programmes and projects in the country. He serves as the thesis adviser to undergraduate fisheries students and a guest lecturer in the Faculty of Fisheries Sciences, Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia. His career of over 20 years has been marked by engagement in various professional, scientific, technical and management work. These have notably included capacity building programmes designed for Fisheries Officials and fish farmers in an effort to promote the aquaculture development of the country.
