A fisheries and aquaculture administrator, Robert Jimmy is a resource manager and scientist with advanced qualifications in fisheries, aquaculture and environment. He has extensive experience working throughout the Pacific region, including a career as public servant within the national Department of Fisheries of the Government of Vanuatu.
He has demonstrated ability to manage complex inter-governmental programs through distinguished leadership and innovative lateral approaches. Since September 2010, he has served as the Pacific Community (SPC) regional policy and technical adviser for the Pacific Islands aquaculture sector providing technical assistance and policy advice to SPC’s 26 member countries and territories. Prior to joining SPC, he had previously served as Director of Fisheries for the government of Vanuatu with the responsibility of managing all matters relating to fisheries sector development at national, regional and international levels.
